Дерево может считаться материалом, стимулирующим здоровье и процессы восстановления организма, хотя пока еще точно не известно, на чем именно основано положительное воздействие древесины. Воздействие деревянных строительных материалов на человека исследуется, например, в Норвегии, Австрии, Японии и Канаде. Несмотря на то, что эти исследования до сих пор не были систематическими и исчерпывающими, они доказали полную состоятельность многих народных поверий, связанных с деревом.
