Villa Olli and Brina

This villa, designed for a family of four, has been tucked into a rocky hillside so that all the rooms have a view of the Dragsfjärd archipelago. The dining room and kitchen form a unit with a view towards the evening sunshine. The bedrooms are located in a separate group of their own facing the morning sunshine. The full-height glass wall extends the interior spaces out onto the terrace.

The building was constructed on the spot from long lengths of timber using traditional carpentry skills. The principal materials are wood and glass. The building is founded on columns so that the hillside is left untouched. The horizontal boarding finished in black creates a protective cladding for the western side. Visitors entering through the almost solid rear wall are taken by surprise by the views that open up when they reach the interior spaces.
