Architecture and Design

Finnish architecture and design are known for nature-relation and Alvar Aalto. Wood has been our building material for centuries, so we have long traditions to use it for every possible purpose. The architecture and design seminars bring us to see the masterpieces of old and modern wood architecture using typical wood construction methods and different building materials.

In the morning seminar curated by Archinfo, we will learn about the tradition of Finnish wooden construction and see masterpieces of wooden architecture throughout history. We may also hear about Alvar Aalto’s relationship with wood.
