Wood magazine’s digital leap
As you know, Wood magazine went fully digital at the start of 2025. This was a carefully considered move. Even though the majority of our readers would have preferred to keep the print version, the escalating costs of printing and distribution unfortunately made it unprofitable to continue.

Looking ahead to a digital future
Moving Wood magazine online offers several significant advantages. First, it’s a much more environmentally friendly option, allowing us to significantly save natural resources and reduce our environmental footprint.
Second, the digital platform opens up entirely new possibilities for us. Instead of receiving Wood magazine only a few times a year, we’ll now publish content regularly throughout the year. This means more up-to-date news, more in-depth articles, and more inspiring examples of wooden architecture and construction – delivered precisely when they’re most relevant.
The renewed Wood Magazine
Wood magazine’s online platform will be renewed this summer. While the platform gets an upgrade, our core content remains the same: we’ll continue to showcase Finnish wooden architecture and construction, and promote the high-quality use of wood products.
With this new online platform, we’re investing even more in interactivity. We want to hear your thoughts on our content! New technical solutions will enable even better sharing, discussion, and commenting. We’ll also be using Puuinfo’s social media channels more actively to share Wood magazine’s content, so be sure to stay tuned and follow us there!
The Puuinfo website itself will remain largely unchanged, though its structure will receive a slight update. This won’t affect visitors; in fact, it will make the user experience even smoother.
Ultimately, this new platform allows us to offer you an even more diverse and interesting reading experience.
Mark Your Calendars:
- August: We’ll open registration for Puupäivä – traditionally one of the highlights of the year in the wood industry!
- September: Public voting for the Wood award begins.
- September: Wood magazine’s new and even more refined online platform officially launches!
