Versowood’s future headquarters cleared for take-off
Authorities have now granted the required building permit, allowing construction to begin this summer.
Once complete in 2025, Versowood’s headquarters in Vierumäki will be the face of Finland’s largest private processing facility for lumber and wood products. The building is approximately 3,000 m2, divided over two floors. The exterior cladding is Versowood’s own Kuningaspaneeli, and the building also serves as a test site for the company’s new glulam structural joints and its proprietary wooden office concept, which is easy to change as needed. Inside and outside, the building’s wooden pillar-beam frame appears to transport the visitor inside a forest. All details are designed for long-term use and to provide a healthy working environment. Wood was chosen for the interior surfaces due to its well-known ability to enhance well-being.
The building has no sprinkler system. Current plans include applying for a Leed Platinum certification. Planetary Architecture provided the building design.
