Excellent for joinery applications
The harmonious appearance of Nordic premium pine and its high proportion of heartwood make it a preferred material for joinery and furniture. The close-grained Nordic pine used in Metsä Wood products has excellent technical properties. Metsä Wood specialises in sawn timber products and we produce pine timber in established commercial dimensions and qualities.
Metsä Wood also produces industrial timber by grading and sorting pine according to customer specifications. Centre cuts raw material can be selected according to a high heartwood proportion, tight annual rings and optimized defect-free wood between knots. This way we can achieve excellent yield potential.
Metsä Wood is also able to select specific pine specialities, e.g. side board cuts, with the relevant special kiln drying properties. We employ the latest kiln drying technology and expertise enabling integration of processes to produce special kiln drying in any quality. We are also developing specialised log conversions and utilising them in customer solutions.
